Crazy thing is that it kind of makes sense.
Black people have always been linked to the working class or the poor the idea that you could look at some black people and consider them elitest is new outside of the black community, (elitest have always existed with in the black community from the time of the house slave, and W.E.B. DuBois to Oprah and Obama).
The fact that white conservatives can charge a black man of this does say quite a bit about the progress of race in the United States, but the fact that did charge him with says quite a bit about how far we have to go.
