Report: Kicker dismissed by Georgia team for being a girl

Kacy Stuart has the leg to be a prospective high school place-kicker in Georgia.

Kacy Stuart has the leg to be a prospective high school place-kicker in Georgia.

Problem is, the administration of the Georgia Football League, the association for private-school teams in the state, said the 14-year-old freshman can't play because she's a girl, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

According to the girl's mother, Kacy was dismissed from the New Creation Center Crusaders, a private Christian academy in McDonough, Ga., as team photos were being shot, even after she had practiced with the team for two months.

Here is the thing out side of tennis, pool, bowling, or poker (I hesitate to call that a sport), I'm not a fan of co-wed sports, (you can give an OK to co-wed wrestling but it ain't the sport of it that's interesting).

Because of the physical aspect of most sports it would slow the game down, Im not worried about a woman getting hurt because you can get hurt rolling out of your bed in the morning so whats the big deal?

Now of course if you came up across a Wonder Woman who just physically dominant than all bets are off, but we haven't seen that yet.

But in this situation here ,we have unique circumstances, the little lady is playing place kicker.

The place kicker has one job to do and that's kick the ball, if her team mates do their job she doesn't have to worry about getting hurt, and if they don't, unless she picks that muffed snap up she'll be fine too.

So to me that makes sense to let her play.

I also have a problem with fact that she was already practicing and scrimmaged once and all of a sudden you pull her off the team.

That is foul, telling a kid she cant play after she suits up is dirty.

The GFL needs to be sued out of their pants for that.

Let the kid play.
